Product packaging, photography and development platforms

Led company-wide revamp of product packaging through two rebrands, new product requirements and a merger. Promoted modular solutions for smaller, more cost-effective and sustainable packaging for numerous products and global delivery.

One of the first projects for NXP was to brand a new initiative for packaging to promote solutions. This simple design became the building block for other product packaging to come.

Working with the sensors group, I created a system of icons matched to product photography to communicate the application of each product. These icons and imagery were used for many years and style grew with time.

This is one of the many product shots that I art directed. I was the creative lead in the planning stages of these development boards, from naming the system to developing a graphic style, color and product photography.

A key component of the design engineering process is support. I worked with the software and development teams to create a sub-brand for promotion of this asset to customers.

This product image shows the Tower development system attached to an Apple iPad. I art directed the photo shoot using several different builds connected to specific devices.

For the Kinetis Global product launch, I came up with a concept to show the actual size of these microcontrollers. I art directed a photo shoot—this become the hero image of the product.

This combination of collateral shows the brand from poster to development kit, including branded DVD with software, and case sleeve for packaging. The entire kit fit in a durable plastic, DVD-sized case.

This comp shows a few examples of different product packaging, from bundles for modular development platforms to custom POS packaging to industry-specific products and low-cost DIY options.

As Creative Director for products, I developed creative strategies and the look and feel of product packaging for internal and external usage. I consulted on packaging and product bundles to support the new features of modular development boards.

Partner and Co-branding

Since a semiconductor company focuses on silicon, we partnered on a lot of development boards and packaging to expedite the design engineering process. I led the creative to balance the brands on products and packaging.

Worldwide

I worked with product teams in China, Korea and the EU to update standard boxes, engaging with the vendor for quality assurance, and designing box options, die-lines and creative strategies for new products.
